What’s New in SAP Lumira 1.0.12?

After a 4 month hiatus from the monthly release schedule for SAP Lumira and SAP Predictive Analysis, SAP released version 1.0.12 of Lumira on October 2, 2013. This Lumira update contains mostly look-and-feel changes and very few functionality updates. This release introduces a new logo and icon for SAP Lumira:

As well as a new welcome screen and source selection pane:

To show some side-by-side comparisons, I’ve re-created several of the graphs from my recent baseball statistics post under version 1.0.12.

  • Hi Hillary – I am working for a CGJ company and am having a debate on wether an anaylical data store is seperate and needed from our traditional BI BW.

    Thoughts?

    • In my experience, I often see analytical environments develop organically, where the initial extracts being ad hoc (but often using the same core data warehouse environment as BI), but over time analytical extracts that are pulled repeatedly can be “productionalized”, perhaps as a BI cube/view/mart. I think analytical and BI data should share the same core source if at all possible, but are often at different levels of granularity and/or detail than traditional BI data.
